  • Park Plaza and the Rotary Club donated 200 Build-A-Bear bears to the American Red Cross during Tuesday's meeting to support children in need during disaster response in Little Rock — the bears were finished with decorative ribbons to add comfort.  ABC 7

  • On Tuesday, family members including his sister got their first look at a new exhibit honoring music legend Glenn Campbell's life and legacy. The exhibit features personal mementos that celebrate his contributions.  THV 11

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A social studies teacher in the Pulaski County Special School District was honored Tuesday night by the School Board — she was named the state's best history teacher by a national organization.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Little Rock's new green restaurant program has certified three restaurants that now follow policies & procedures to recycle, conserve resources, and promote earth-friendly choices. The program encourages local eateries to adopt practices that support environmental sustainability.  THV 11

  • Agriculture secretary Wes Ward spoke about challenges facing local farmers and how farming supports the state’s economy during a recent talk. He noted that rising costs and market shifts call for new support to keep agriculture strong.  THV 11
  • On December 5, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced that enrolled women veterans can now schedule gynecology care without a referral from their primary care provider—improving access for patients in Little Rock.  ABC 7
  • Arkansas Farm Bureau urged Congress to offer extra relief funding before the next crop year because the $12B aid (designed for temporary support) is not enough for growers who have faced losses and risk bankruptcy amid ongoing challenges.  THV 11
