BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Black Hills Energy has submitted a proposal to the Arkansas Public Service Commission to raise natural gas rates by about 12%+ roughly $11 per month. The proposal is under review and, if approved, will increase monthly bills for customers. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Grammy-nominated artist Forrest Frank will perform his The Jesus Generation Tour at Simmons Bank Arena on Jun. 2 at 7 p.m., and he will be joined by special guests Tori Kelly, Cory Asbury and The Figs. ABC 7
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Arkansas is looking to lead global lithium production as a key material for electric vehicles and renewable energy. The state is exploring mining and production opportunities that may bring jobs (locally) to the area. THV 11

- ➤ UAMS has reopened its Head Start Centers today after federal funding was restored following a government shutdown that closed them on Nov. 1 — the centers now welcome children and accept new applications at the Central Office on Kanis Road. ABC 7

- ➤ Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders discussed Arkansas energy policy at the annual electric cooperative conference Monday in Little Rock (held at the Marriott Hotel). Her remarks focused on shaping the state's future energy plans. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ The Arkansas Economic Development Commission awarded $2 million to 12 accelerator programs Monday to boost startup growth and support job creation in Little Rock - the grant helps programs offer mentorship and resources to early-stage startups. ABC 7
- ➤ Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced today at the State Capitol that Blanchard Springs Caverns becomes Arkansas’ 53rd state park under the Natural State Initiative - establishing a joint management model with the U.S.-owned Forest Service that will bring conservation measures, trails, and increased tourism to north-central Arkansas.
