ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday, Pulaski County officials announced that the recycling program now accepts paper and plastic to-go cups alongside regular recyclables—upgrades at the Waste Management facility improved sorting methods and aim to reduce landfill waste.  THV 11

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Arkansas Department of Health reported 469 whooping cough cases since January 1, marking the highest count in 15 years with most cases in children aged 10 to 19. Health officials said vaccination is the best way to prevent the spread of the highly contagious disease.  FOX 16

SPORTS NEWS

  • Arkansas will host Missouri on Saturday at Reynolds Razorback Stadium as Missouri’s returning quarterback Beau Pribula—who recovered from a dislocated ankle at Vanderbilt—looks to spark his team’s offense; interim Coach Bobby Petrino said he trusts Pribula despite his earlier turnovers.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas women's basketball will face Drake in Nashville for the Music City Classic this Thanksgiving week as the game scheduled for 5:45 p.m. will start 30 minutes after a preceding match ends—fans can watch it live on BallerTV for a $20 pass—while the Razorbacks, with five wins and one loss, aim to stop the Bulldogs' three-game losing streak.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
