- ➤ Canvas Community in Little Rock served 117 guests a free Thanksgiving dinner on Monday night after the recent government shutdown increased local need—volunteer Kara Hubbard said the meal connected people who felt alone. The church will host another dinner on Wednesday—ensuring that everyone in need gets a warm meal before the holiday. FOX 16
- ➤ A 105-year-old veteran from the Tuskegee Airmen was honored on Monday at Summit Senior Community in Little Rock where he received a Quilt of Valor and two commemorative coins for his service in World War II and the Korean War. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Katelyn Lang from Healthy Life Pet Clinic in North Little Rock advises pet owners to serve small amounts of unseasoned turkey breast and plain vegetables this Thanksgiving—she warns that fatty foods like ham, gravy, cooked bones and artificial sweeteners can make pets very sick. She also stated that if pets show symptoms like vomiting or diarrhea, owners should seek help immediately as the clinic is open until midnight Wednesday through Friday. THV 11
- ➤ An Arkansas family is celebrating Thanksgiving week in Little Rock with Cambrie— a 12-year-old who received a heart valve from baby Eli McGinley 16 years ago after his organs were donated. The McGinleys held a birthday event on Sunday and a special gathering on Monday, and Cambrie will try new experiences— like her first hunt— as she bonds with her second family while honoring Eli’s life. - ➤ The Arkansas Rural Health Partnership will use a $500,000 grant to buy a mobile emergency simulation training unit and two pediatric simulators to boost hands-on skills for responders in the Arkansas Delta.
