- ➤ On Veterans Day, community members honored veterans at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock by laying over 9,500 flags as a tribute to military service — local groups like the Lions Club and Scouting America joined families to pay their respects. Organizers said they will need help next Saturday to collect the flags and restore the cemetery to its previous condition — the annual event marks a strong community salute to those who served. ABC 7
- ➤ THV11 is partnering with Kroger and the Arkansas Foodbank for a Turkey and Sides Drive to help those in need this Thanksgiving season. The drive will be held on November 13 from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Kroger on McCain Blvd in North Little Rock — other donation sites at Little Rock and Benton will also accept contributions — to help ensure families have a holiday meal. - ➤ Little Rock hosted its 12th annual Say It Ain't Say's Sweet Potato Pie Contest on Nov. 9 at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, where eight cooks competed in honor of Robert 'Say' McIntosh—known as the Sweet Potato Pie King. Judges awarded first place to Carla Nichols, second place to Vernice Meadows and third place to Candice Bailey while Loretta Ellington's pie received the People's Choice award. - ➤ Bethel African Methodist Church in North Little Rock marked its 162nd anniversary this afternoon with a celebration featuring community leaders — Mayor Frank Scott Jr. and Dr. Sybil Jordan Hampton. Established in 1863, the church remains a long-standing landmark in the neighborhood. ABC 7
