BUSINESS NEWS

  • Officials from Allsopp & Chapple announced a new restaurant called Hazel’s Public House will open downtown in early 2026—focusing on simple ingredients, quality flavors, and artisanal comfort food like burgers on house-baked brioche buns. The venue will offer a full bar with craft cocktails and a welcoming space for both casual lunches and late-night gatherings.  FOX 16

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Forward Arkansas launched a statewide pilot tutoring program in five districts including Little Rock, eStem Public Charter Schools, Arkadelphia, Hamburg and Texarkana + the initiative ties regular tutoring to student performance. Students will meet in small groups three times a week for at least 30 minutes and progress will be measured by report card growth and standardized test data + school leaders plan to expand the model if results are positive.  FOX 16

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Arvest Bank has restarted its Arvest Assist program and is offering a disaster relief loan program through Nov. 21 for customers facing paycheck disruption during the ongoing government shutdown — while Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield is asking for non-perishable food and personal care item donations at its ArkansasBlue Welcome Centers until Nov. 14.  FOX 16
  • Claire Brown and Faith Woodard are on THV11’s Power Women Wednesday to discuss how the government shutdown is impacting women and mothers — they explain how Little Rock Power Women is providing assistance during the crisis —.   • Razorbacks quarterback Taylen Green had a poor game last Saturday with seven carries for 14 yards and three interceptions in a 33-24 loss to Auburn, as coach Bobby Petrino said reduced practice pace from a recent knee collision hurt his performance — the team will work on its running game ahead of a 3 p.m. contest against Mississippi State.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
