COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Presbyterian Village in Little Rock celebrated 60 years of service to senior citizens. It was established in the early 1960s when architect Samuel Ebbert Clippard urged Presbyterians to build a retirement home—an initiative that set the stage for its continuing care for elders.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Groups across Arkansas plan 15 No Kings 2.0 protests today as part of a national day of action — the Little Rock event will start at Capitol Avenue and Broadway at 10 a.m. with a march at 11 a.m. featuring Central AR Pride.  FOX 16

  • One person was fired and 11 employees were suspended after an adult resident died when staff physically restrained and injected the resident with an antipsychotic medication while they lay prone on the floor—an incident reported by the Arkansas Department of Human Services at the facility in Warren.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Tickets will go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster for comedian and actor Katt Williams’ show at North Little Rock’s Simmons Bank Arena at 8 p.m. Feb.6, 2026—prices still to be announced.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Officials announced that Todd Yakoubian won the Best of the Best award for Best Meteorologist in Arkansas at the 'Under the Big Top' event on October 16—he thanked voters for the honor and praised the event. This recognition highlights his trusted expertise in meteorology.  FOX 16

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Preliminary testing data from the Arkansas Department of Education shows that over 560 third graders in Little Rock School District lack the reading skills needed for fourth grade & school officials plan to review remedial programs & offer extra tutoring if needed.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Little Rock Zoo is celebrating its record-breaking recycling effort today through the Gorillas on the Line program—216 devices recycled in 2025 have helped protect gorilla habitats and reduce coltan mining. The Zoo has recycled 813 devices in total since joining the program and accepts old cellphones at its front entry plaza year-round.  FOX 16

HEALTH NEWS

  • Nineteen-year-old Aria Carter felt a lump and later a burning sensation in her breast that led her to get checked; tests found she has breast cancer and a BRCA-2 gene mutation.
