- ➤ Cody Dickinson from the North Mississippi Allstars will perform live from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts in Little Rock — the free lawn concert welcomes all music fans. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Three Arkansas acts are set to perform at The Hall in Little Rock on Saturday as part of the NPR Tiny Desk Contest: Arkansas Showcase—featuring performers such as Sarah Lily, Aaron J. - ➤ ScotsFest 2025 will be held at Lyon College in Batesville on Friday and Saturday and will feature bagpipes, games and clan displays as part of the 45th Arkansas Scottish Festival. A spooky Candlelight Concert will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Albert Pike Memorial Center—Listeso String Quartet will play Halloween songs with tickets from $26 to $47.50. - ➤ Officials say if the shutdown continues into November, SNAP funds may not be available since only October has been paid. Mary Franklin said over 222,000 Arkansans rely on SNAP and will be directed to food banks—a backup plan if funds fall short. FOX 16
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Ledger Lamkin, a 13-year-old from Camden battling a rare terminal cancer, is competing at the Arkansas State Fair despite recent spinal surgery and ongoing treatment. He has spent five years in the show ring and plans to continue showing livestock — his mom says the animals give him strength. FOX 16
- ➤ UAMS reported that nearly 200 mothers volunteered to donate milk on Tuesday after a freezer failure forced staff to discard stored milk, and the hospital purchased additional milk from out-of-state banks to quickly replenish its sole milk bank. Officials thanked the donors and encouraged other mothers to volunteer. FOX 16
