- ➤ Linemen from the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas trained Tuesday for a volunteer mission to bring power to a small village near Playa Grande in Guatemala. The team of sixteen will wire 45 to 50 homes (each receiving two light switches, two outlets and four bulbs) and will leave Sept. 30, returning Oct. 17. FOX 16

- ➤ Two of Arkansas' largest steel fabricators said Tuesday that tariffs on foreign-manufactured steel did not hurt their operations—local supply chains and steady federal spending support the industry's growth. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra has received $1 million from Susie and Charles Morgan to launch new music education programs in October—classes include a free children’s choir for ages 8 to 12, introductory violin lessons and chamber music coaching through its E. Lee Ronnel Music Academy at the Stella Boyle Smith Music Center. FOX 16

- ➤ Renovation of Lake Conway has cleared boat lanes to help anglers fish safely, though longtime resident Atherton worries the lake's crappie numbers will start over. The dam will be replaced in the fall and construction is set to take 18 months. FOX 16

- ➤ State Sen. Joshua Bryant was selected to chair the Senate City, County and Local Affairs Committee until January 2027—he plans to review housing rules and cemetery care with local experts and lenders. In addition, Sen. Steve Crowell and Sen. Stephanie Flowers were named to new legislative roles—while the governor will schedule a special election to fill the vacant Senate District 26 seat. - ➤ The Pulaski County Clerk's Office is partnering with local organizations — hosting CarniVOTE to register students at high schools, colleges, and the courthouse parking lot from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. — as a carnival-themed event to celebrate National Voter Registration Day. Fifteen pop-up voter registration sites will also be set up at various schools across the county. ABC 7
