ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Following recent fatal accidents, Arkansas officials are urging people to stay alert near train tracks—local agencies plan to review safety protocols and improve warning signs.  THV 11

CULTURE NEWS

  • On Wednesday, a judge issued a temporary restraining order in the lawsuit between Argenta Contemporary Theatre and 13 former employees—Stage 13—which limits the use of ACT materials and requires a verified accounting of company property. Both sides will appear in court on Sept. 22 to decide if the ruling will become a preliminary injunction.  FOX 16
  • Arkansas Comic Con will run from Friday to Sunday at Little Rock’s Statehouse Convention Center on Markham and Main streets—celebrities, creators, cosplayers and gamers will gather for the event.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Argenta Contemporary Theatre filed a lawsuit against former employees who formed rival Stage 13 and obtained a temporary restraining order that banned them from running classes scheduled for Sept. 8— the order expires on Sept. 22 with a hearing set for 11 a.m. that day.  ABC 7

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Little Rock School District introduced new gameday guidelines effective immediately after conflicts occurred at recent games—students must show a school ID while visiting students need an adult aged 21 or older, and ticket sales will end at 4 p.m. on game days.  THV 11

  • Today, Little Rock leaders hosted a conference to present record-breaking employment numbers and announce new development plans—highlighting the city’s growing economic opportunities. Officials said the event focused on growth and set the stage for upcoming projects.  THV 11
  • Pulaski County officials have launched the Give $5 Campaign — letting residents add a $5 donation when paying personal property and real estate taxes before Oct. 15 — to fund low-cost spay/neuter procedures at local clinics and expand services through a partnership with Arkansans for Animals.  FOX 16

HEALTH NEWS

  • The CDC is warning people about a deadly insect found in Arkansas and other states. Health officials urge residents to take protective steps as the kissing bug (Triatominae) spreads Chagas disease.  THV 11
  • Hopebridge, a major autism therapy provider, is closing its doors—its operations impacted by a new state law.  THV 11
  • Arkansans spent $193 million on medical marijuana from January 1 to August 31, 2025, marking an increase of over $10 million from last year as patients purchased 52,292 pounds with daily sales nearing $800,000. The surge raised more than $5.38 million in tax revenue in July and August & the state expects to break the 2023 record later this year.  ABC 7
