Registration is now open for the 2025 Great Arkansas Cleanup; KAB invites volunteers statewide to join from September 6 through October 31 to help clean up parks, roads and neighborhoods.

The campaign builds on last year's work, which saw nearly 4,500 volunteers and many cleanup events — inspiring a state effort to keep communities beautiful.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office said a train hit a vehicle near 5300 Perkins Street, killing the female driver and leaving the male passenger badly hurt—he was taken to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences while the train engineer stayed safe and the investigation is ongoing.
