- ➤ Community members gathered on Saturday at Oppenheimer Park on Dahlia Drive in the Cloverdale neighborhood to clean up and connect with city officials, funded by the Love Your Block grant program — which supports resident-led projects. FOX 16
- ➤ On Saturday night, two surviving members of the Little Rock Nine—Minnijean Brown-Trickey and Elizabeth Eckford—were honored at the Arkansas Travelers game with a standing ovation that also recognized family members. The game featured a jersey auction that will support the Little Rock Nine Foundation scholarship funds. THV 11
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Little Rock Police say Duane Nooner, 29, was arrested after he hit and shot Michel'le Butler near the Rockefeller Early Childhood Center on Wednesday around 2:54 p.m.—Butler, a Little Rock School District employee, died at the scene and Nooner has been charged with capital murder. THV 11

- ➤ Little Rock native Eden Boles was named Miss Howard University for the 2025-26 school year. The 21-year-old biology major will be crowned on Oct. 19 at the Washington, D.C. campus—she credits her Arkansas roots for shaping her pageant campaign. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ A 4.2-mile stretch (former Arkansas 440) was designated as part of Interstate 440, linking Interstate 40 and Interstate 57 near North Little Rock and Jacksonville. Trucks were seen on the highway on Aug.22, confirming the update. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ At the Bridge the Gap event in North Little Rock, community members gathered to honor over 7,500 lives lost to opioids and share their personal stories of grief and recovery. Participants—some of whom recently lost loved ones to fentanyl overdoses—found hope and support at resource booths that offered paths to healing. FOX 16
