- ➤ Former Stone County chief deputy Zachary Hunter Alexander was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for selling a stolen gun and extortion under color of official right—he must also pay $153,786 in restitution following a May 2022 indictment. FOX 16
- ➤ On May 23, Cabot police officers fired on suspect Zion Jackson during a high-speed chase on South Rockwood Road and John Hardin Road after he fled a traffic stop on a stolen Range Rover—the 23rd Judicial District prosecuting attorney later ruled the officers acted in self-defense when Jackson drove toward them during his pursuit related to a University of Central Arkansas shooting. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences announced on Tuesday that it received a $1.3 million federal grant to expand telehealth services across Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The grant will provide $325,000 annually for four years to train providers and offer technical assistance in rural areas — boosting digital health in underserved communities. FOX 16
