- ➤ Governor Sarah Sanders announced today that Welspun Tubular will expand its operation at the Port of Little Rock to add 300 new jobs by building a new line pipe mill and coating facility for use in the energy industry—this facility will be the only one in the nation capable of manufacturing line pipes from 6 to 56 inches. - ➤ Arkansas lawmakers demanded answers after Grant Hardin—a convicted murderer and rapist—escaped the North Central Unit in Calico Rock in May and was later recaptured, exposing security flaws that led to staff terminations and security upgrades including an audit of the inmate classification system. - ➤ North Little Rock fire officials are investigating a string of suspicious fires—four vacant houses burned down and investigators are looking for evidence of foul play. THV 11

- ➤ Mabelvale Elementary School has recorded a rap version of Drake’s 'I’m Goin In' to welcome students back to class, with principal Kelecia Glover saying the song is meant to boost excitement for a new school year— the video has received over 40,000 views on Facebook. - ➤ Pulaski County Special School District started a new school year on Monday morning in Sylvan Hills as FOX 16 Good Day aired live — local students returned to class after summer break. FOX 16
- ➤ Little Rock school districts start school today with a new vision and mission to prepare students for more choices in their future. The district renamed Horace Mann as Horace Mann Multimedia Arts and Digital Innovations Magnet Middle School and introduced new courses such as esports and recording studio classes. ABC 7
