The decision, made by the city board, aims to restore safety and confidence at the shopping destination after past incidents.

Officials at a recent meeting of the Arkansas Board of Corrections approved an anti-recidivism program backed by Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders to assist inmates scheduled for release in six months, starting with 100 inmates at each facility.

In the program, case managers will help inmates secure personal documents, find housing and employment and connect with community groups—officials said funding will come from existing state resources.

North Little Rock Police Department has used drones like the Anzu Raptor T with thermal imaging since 2008 to reduce manpower and improve response to scenes such as accidents and missing persons.

Little Rock Police started their drone program in March to document scenes and assist in searches—helping keep officers and the community safer.

The Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball team will open their SEC schedule on January 3 against Tennessee at Bud Walton Area — the season opener kicks off their conference play.
