- ➤ Last April the North Little Rock Animal Shelter expanded its facility to create more room for nearly 3,000 rescued animals each year. Director Adam Tindall said the shelter took in 1,339 animals this summer and that slower adoptions during the back-to-school season mean empty cages are needed—he urged locals to visit nearby facilities—to help clear space for future rescues. - ➤ R&B singer Trey Songz will headline the opening night concert on Oct. 10 at Barton Coliseum as part of the 2025 Arkansas State Fair, while country singer David Lee Murphy with Lonestar and Southern rock band 38 Special are set for Oct. 11 and Oct. 12 respectively. - ➤ State revenue collections grew by $21 million, a 3.4% increase to reach $636.8 million in July, beating forecast by $30.1 million — net available revenues also rose 5.6% to $557.5 million, officials said.
