- ➤ Sixty young campers arrived at a Little Rock police camp to meet local officers and learn about law enforcement — they will spend five days swimming, fighting water balloon battles, and competing in tug-of-war to break down stereotypes. The camp, now in its 24th year, is designed to give kids a positive first experience with the police. KARK

- ➤ The Little Rock Fire Department responded to a fire at Pinnacle Valley View apartments on August 3, quickly putting the blaze out after it burned through four units and displaced five tenants. Fire marshals, MEMS, and firefighters are investigating the cause while the Red Cross has assisted three displaced residents — no injuries were reported. ABC 7

- ➤ A shooting at Fred W. Parris Towers in Little Rock injured four people—raising concerns about security at the affordable-housing building. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Little Rock police arrested 20-year-old Al Fitzpatrick on August 2 in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred on February 28 in the 2000 block of Labette Manor — the investigation remains ongoing. THV 11
