- ➤ Little Rock families can join back-to-school events at Park Plaza Mall and The Promenade at Chenal. Park Plaza Mall will host a festival on Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Aug. 3 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday with science shows, animal encounters, crafts and a fashion show while The Promenade will hold its event on Aug. 2 with a live DJ, a meet-and-greet with Miss Arkansas, free hot dogs for the first 250 visitors, games and donation drives — Stuff the Bus school supply drive and the Little Readers Rock book drive — to help families start the school year. - ➤ Attorney General Tim Griffin approved a ballot title on Monday from Protect AR Rights to start gathering signatures needed to roll back new rules that make it harder to put a referendum on the ballot. The group will need enough valid signatures for the measure to appear on the next general election ballot. FOX 16
- ➤ State Rep. Julie Mayberry reversed her earlier decision and announced yesterday that she will not seek re-election for the House District 92 seat in 2026—she will serve out her remaining term while focusing on personal priorities. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Arkansas dove hunters will have double the field options when the AGFC’s application process for the private field lease program and first weekend public hunts begins tomorrow and runs until August 15. Permit winners, who can bring one guest, will be emailed instructions on accessing their chosen field — the draw will be completed after the application period ends. THV 11
