- ➤ Arkansas State Police are investigating a double homicide after a 43-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were found dead on a trail at Devil’s Den State Park on July 26—authorities say a white male suspect in dark clothing driving a black sedan remains at large. KARK

- ➤ Actors Theatre of Little Rock will stage West Side Story at Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church from Wednesday through Aug. 16 with shows at 7:30 p.m. and a Saturday matinee—bringing a fresh take on the classic musical. The entertainment calendar also features A Work of Art with performances by Will Downing and Alex Bugnon plus events like 24 Hour Plays and a Color Run—giving local audiences a full week of live music, theater and community arts. - ➤ Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is committed to funding every eligible student who applies for an Educational Freedom Account and more than 43,100 students have been approved ahead of the 2025-26 school year. - ➤ UAMS launched a doula training program that offers free support to pregnant women from 41 counties and helps doulas complete live birth requirements; any pregnant woman expecting to deliver before Dec 1 is eligible. The program, which includes 80 scholarships for the $3,300 course (50 responded in 6 days) (partners include multiple state health organizations), aims to expand doula services in rural areas.
