  • Little Rock police are searching for 50-year-old Jason Carper, a white male last seen in the Little Rock area and described as 5'9" and 210 lbs (if you have information call Detective Atkins at 501-404-3009, Detective Boyd at 501-404-3016, or the Communications Center at 501-371-4829 referencing LRPD Inc#2025-085252).  THV 11

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Arkansas farmers received relief from a new federal budget signed this summer that boosts reference prices—expanded crop insurance and new disaster relief funding help cover losses from severe weather. Rice growers like Jay Coker expect the changes to stabilize costs and support better farm planning.  KARK

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Middle and high school students in Little Rock School District will lock away their phones in Yondr pouches this fall under a new policy tied to Arkansas Act 122. Elementary students must keep devices off and hidden (the rule does not require pouches) while all students will continue to use District-issued Chromebooks.  KARK

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Little Rock City Board of Directors voted unanimously Tuesday to enact a curfew that requires minors under 18 to be off the streets by 10 p.m. starting Sept. 2 – the move follows a weekend shooting in River Market and aims to boost safety by encouraging parents to monitor youth activities.  FOX 16
  • The Little Rock Board of Directors voted Tuesday to submit an action plan seeking nearly $21 million in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery funding for tornado damage on March 31 (officials plan to request a waiver for spending requirements in moderate-income areas).  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Starting Aug.2, Baptist Health Community Outreach will host a series of free back-to-school immunization clinics for children in central Arkansas with sessions set in North Little Rock, Sherwood, Little Rock and Jacksonville through Aug.11.
