  • Gardeners returned to Two Rivers Park Farmers Market this week in Pulaski County to enjoy fresh produce and plan for fall crops. Chuck Richesin said gardeners will soon plant broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage and may get a second tomato crop if temperatures drop — while the Pulaski County Garden Center offers produce Saturday mornings until the end of August.  FOX 16

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Little Rock fire crews responded Saturday night when a blaze damaged the 135-year-old Fee House on Broadway shortly after 10:30 p.m.—neighbors noted recent break-ins and the Fire Marshal is investigating the cause while no injuries were reported.  KARK

CRIME NEWS

  • Little Rock police officials asked the state's law enforcement standards board to decertify a former sergeant—fired in early June after she lied about directions given to a subordinate officer.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Arkansas law authorized speeding enforcement cameras almost two years ago & early data show they are reducing crashes and saving lives. Officials say the cameras remain a key tool in enforcing speed limits.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

HEALTH NEWS

  • A new report shows that 30 of 47 rural hospitals are at risk of closing within 6 to 7 years due to Medicaid changes from the federal One Big, Beautiful Bill Act—this risk was apparent even before the bill was signed into law.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • The FDA announced that Hartford Bakery has recalled six lots of Lewis Bake Shop Artisan bread after undeclared hazelnuts were found in about 883 12-ounce loaves sold at stores like Kroger and Walmart across 12 states—people with nut allergies may face serious risks. Consumers are urged to return the product for a full refund—no major injuries have been reported.  KARK
  • A master class shows that while weight loss drugs help with obesity, exercise remains key for overall health. The new exercise, the Crab Knee Raise, strengthens core muscles—stretches hips and lower back and can be added before or after workouts.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
