- ➤ A Pulaski County man, Montrell Austin, 41, was convicted on federal drug and gun charges Tuesday evening at the Richard Sheppard Arnold U.S. District Courthouse in Little Rock—he was charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possessing firearms as a felon and using guns in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and now awaits sentencing after a two-day trial. - ➤ North Little Rock police are searching for 22-year-old Kameron Dshaun Johnson for the homicide of a man found on the 1600 block of Chandler Street—Johnson was last seen near Chicago Street in Little Rock and is considered armed and dangerous. ABC 7
- ➤ Arkansas State Police are asking the public to help find 1-year-old Atom Wilson, who was last seen at 10:00 a.m. June 24 at Park Plaza Mall in Little Rock wearing a blue and white shirt with jeans and is 31 inches tall with short brown hair — officials say he may be with his mother, Kendolyn Wilson, driving a 2025 gray Kia 5 possibly toward Alabama or Georgia. - ➤ The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for much of Arkansas with heat index values reaching 110 until Friday at 9 p.m. (high temperatures in the upper 90s are expected) and Little Rock Compassion Center is struggling with broken water fountains as more homeless and seniors seek relief, urging donations of water bottles and food (critical for keeping those in need safe). - ➤ Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin said Wednesday that the state will receive $44.5 million from an opioid settlement, with payments made annually through 2040. One-third of the funds (about $14.8 million) will be managed by his office while the remaining two-thirds will be shared with municipalities and counties for treatment, research, and prevention. KARK
