CRIME NEWS

  • Bryant police said that three victims, Michael Jennings, Monica Jennings and Kayla Mitchell, were found dead in a Bryant home on Lena Drive on Sunday after a triple homicide, and suspect Jarrod Mitchell (34) now faces three counts of first-degree murder with a $2 million bond set.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Officers responded at 5:14 p.m. on Monday to a shots fired call at 602 Timber Hill Drive when an armed man refused commands and was fatally shot by an officer—he later died at the hospital.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Maroon 5 will perform at 8 p.m. on Nov. 9 at Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock as part of its 23-date tour promoting its upcoming album (Love Is Like). Claire Rosinkranz will open the show while tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and the album releases on Aug. 15.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Arkansas Game and Fish dropped materials by helicopter over Lake Conway to improve spawning grounds and shelter for catfish + sunfish as part of an ongoing habitat project. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission approved a 2.5% royalty payment for landowners in two southwest counties for lithium extracted from brine by Saltwerx—an ExxonMobil affiliate planning projects in Lafayette and Miller counties—in a unanimous vote on Monday. The decision meets state law’s fair and equitable requirement and follows similar arrangements approved earlier for lithium extraction.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
