- ➤ A study by Boyette Strategic Advisors showed Central Arkansas Water generated a $3.2 billion economic impact from 2015 to 2024 by boosting regional output by $1.7 billion and creating over 6,600 jobs. - ➤ Today, the Arkansas Health Care Association opened its School of Nursing in Little Rock to offer tuition-free classes that let health care workers become licensed practical nurses. The program serves 71 students across Little Rock, Rogers and Jonesboro in partnership with Ozarka College—officials say it will help ease the state's critical nurse shortage. - ➤ Today, the Arkansas Department of Agriculture released its 2024 Groundwater Levels and Trends report, which found that groundwater withdrawal in eastern and southern areas remains unsustainable while the Alluvial aquifer shows a slight rebound and the Sparta aquifer is improving. Officials stated that 71% of the state’s water use comes from groundwater + they recommend increased monitoring, conservation efforts and careful water planning, with further updates set for 2026.
