  • The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville’s Entrepreneurial Law Project is expanding its free legal checkups to serve entrepreneurs in locations outside Northwest Arkansas, with a Little Rock session scheduled for June 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub. Entrepreneurs can register online for a 30-minute consultation with pro bono attorneys—offering essential legal advice to support start-ups with limited resources.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

CRIME NEWS

  • A Little Rock man died from domestic-related violence and his family spoke out after his death—one of 28 homicides recorded in the city this year, with several linked to domestic incidents.  THV 11
  • The Sherwood Police Department is asking for help in finding Hailey Purcer, a white woman with blue eyes standing 5 ft 7, who was last seen Tuesday, June 10 in Sherwood and later in a 2010 Black Chrysler Town and Country Van with Missouri license plate LH8S4J in Jacksonville on Friday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m.—she contacted her mother on Saturday, June 14 and reportedly made suicidal statements.  ABC 7
  • Little Rock police are investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday afternoon at 1740 John Barrow Road—officers responded at about 12:40 p.m. and found an adult male who later died in a local hospital.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Miss Metro Kennedy Holland, a University of Central Arkansas student, was crowned Miss Arkansas and will receive over $36,000 in scholarships—Miss Greater Little Rock Amelia Lisowe, an incoming freshman at Bryant Junior High, was crowned Miss Arkansas’ Teen and will earn more than $16,000 in scholarships.  ABC 7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Central Arkansas Water’s board approved a $230 million bond issue to overhaul the Jack H. Wilson Water Treatment Plant in west Little Rock. The financing includes $216,590,000 for construction, $13,315,000 for capitalized interest, and $95,000 for bond costs—officials expect to close the transaction in July to boost the plant's capacity from 133 million to 150 million gallons a day.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
