- ➤ Crashes on I‑40 and I‑30 are causing traffic delays in Pulaski and Saline counties—one crash was reported at the I‑30/40 interchange in North Little Rock after 1 a.m. and another near Bryant Parkway slowed eastbound traffic before 6:30 a.m. FOX 16
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A State Capitol police officer, Sergeant Dion Tyson, was injured when an 18-wheeler merging on an on-ramp struck his patrol vehicle at 6:30 a.m. on May 28 near Bryant— the truck fled the scene and he received treatment for his injuries. ABC 7
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Nine historic sites were added to the National Register of Historic Places in May by the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program — the listings, including two in Little Rock, reflect the diverse history of our state. ABC 7
- ➤ The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts is hosting the 64th Young Arkansas Artists exhibition through Aug. 10, showing 39 works by K-12 students from across the state—each student earned a $25 gift certificate while their school received a $250 award to support arts education. - ➤ The North Little Rock School District special election held May 13 was certified at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday by the Pulaski County Board of Election Commissioners. Voters narrowly approved a 4-mill property tax increase with 1,706 ballots in favor & 1,514 opposed, and the measure will generate $70 million for a new middle school, high school renovations and an indoor sports complex.
