- ➤ Arkansas State Police arrested 25-year-old Eric Osborn from Pocahontas after a search of his home on North Thomasville Avenue found child sexual abuse material — he was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center and the investigation is ongoing. ABC 7
- ➤ A Sherwood man accepted a 35-year sentence after he shot his estranged wife on Birdie Lane in Little Rock on July 30th in front of their daughter—he pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, a terroristic act and firearm charges. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ The state Department of Finance and Administration lowered its forecasted surplus for fiscal 2025 to $214.8 million after extending the income tax filing deadline to July 31 & it also reduced fiscal 2026’s surplus to $185.1 million amid tax rate cuts and tariff concerns as revenue projections drop from fiscal 2024 levels.
