- ➤ Boone, a 2-year-old beagle abandoned near Wye Mountain in Perry County, was hit by a car and rescued by locals who raised $5,000 for his surgery at Providence Veterinary Clinic. A custom wheelchair from Horton Orthotics helped him regain movement, and he now heals with his new owner Deann Ramsey. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ North Little Rock’s Old Mill celebrated 50 years as a city park today in a 1976-themed bash with tours, children’s activities and discussions on its restoration (known from Gone with the Wind), while Mayor Terry Hartwick joined a tree-planting ceremony honoring founding member Sandra Taylor Smith. - ➤ A motorcycle caravan honoring military veterans passed through Central Arkansas Sunday as part of the annual Run for the Wall event; the group began in Oklahoma City (and is expected to stop in Forrest City) as it travels from Ontario, Calif. to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. - ➤ Downtown Little Rock welcomed the Farmers Market back today for its 52nd season as over 50 vendors offered fresh produce, baked goods and handmade items while the market runs every Saturday (7 a.m. to 1 p.m.) through August 1. ABC 7

- ➤ Pulaski County has spent $9.2 million on Providence Park, a homeless village project that now includes five tiny homes and shared utilities; the $20 million plan will eventually add 400 tiny houses with communal amenities (each home costing about $50,000) to help residents gain stable housing.
