ACCIDENTS NEWS

CULTURE NEWS

  • Evanescence singer Amy Lee said that licensing 'Bring Me to Life' for HBO's The Rehearsal is the strangest they have seen—she called director Nathan Fielder 'some kind of genius' for using the song in an episode that reimagined a famous pilot landing and featured improved cockpit communication.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Joan of Arkansas is the title of both a 1958 unsold TV pilot about a Hot Springs dental technician picked by a government computer for a moon mission + a 2023 book that retells the Petit Jean legend as a queer drama about climate change, internet fame and politics.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Craig Campbell’s sculpture 'Picnic'—which shows a child riding a bear—was selected for installation near the north parking lot of Allsopp Park at the intersection of Arkansas 10 and Allsopp Park Road following a vote at a Sculpture at the River Market event on Wednesday. The design—chosen over submissions by Clay Enoch and Daniel Glanz—will be installed soon to enhance the public art scene in Little Rock.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • The Rock City Film Festival returned to CALS Ron Robinson Theater for its 7th year from May 16 to today—showing films by Arkansas independent filmmakers and offering Q+A sessions and workshops to help build a local film community. Attendees enjoyed a range of genres and free parking with general admission seating.  ABC 7
  • The Downtown Little Rock Partnership has brought back its Rooftop Cinema Series, with Fast X (2023) and a MoparMania Friday Night Lights car show set to start at dusk May 30 — the screenings have moved to the Beach Abstract & Guaranty Company/ProLand Title deck at 100 Center St for easier restroom access — and admission is free.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Week three of the round-up highlights West Little Rock brunch spots by listing restaurant names, hours, addresses, phone numbers, and signature dishes to help local diners decide where to eat — the article adds that next week will focus on venues north of the river and invites venue owners to flag omissions.
