- ➤ Senior Brea Green of Little Rock Southwest High earned a full-ride golf scholarship to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff through her work in the First Tee National School Program—she is the first golfer from her school to receive such an offer and will join the team in mid-August. KARK

- ➤ Today, the National Weather Service in North Little Rock reported severe storms are possible across Arkansas with northeast areas under enhanced risk—storms may bring softball-sized hail, winds up to 80 mph, and a slight chance of tornadoes, and Little Rock is expected to see a main band around 7 p.m. More storms are forecast through the weekend, with southern areas facing the worst activity on Saturday evening. Forrest—motivated by the unsolved murder of his sister and previous police discipline—will unveil his SMART Justice plan on Monday to address the region’s violent crime crisis. - ➤ Arkansas lawmakers ended the legislative session on May 5 without extending postpartum Medicaid coverage—about 1,850 new mothers lost insurance during the critical 60 days after giving birth.
