- ➤ Officials at North Little Rock and Maumelle animal shelters say false information given at pet drop-offs is hampering efforts to reunite lost animals with their owners. Staff process nearly 50 drop-offs weekly and note that (70% of lost dogs are found close to home) which worsens overcrowding. THV 11
- ➤ The Little Rock Zoo welcomed 3-year-old Eastern Black Rhino Zumi from the Kansas City Zoo yesterday, and she is settling into her new home plus enjoying her mud wallows. Officials said she will join breeding efforts with Kevin in two years to help boost the species population. ABC 7

- ➤ North Little Rock police and city officials held a memorial at the Justice Center on May 12 to honor five officers who died in service. The ceremony featured a three-volley salute — the laying of a reef and a proclamation read by Mayor Terry Hartwick as part of National Police Week. ABC 7
