- ➤ AAA officials project that 4.7 million people will travel across Arkansas during the Memorial Day holiday period from May 22nd to May 26th. The agency forecasts that 4.1 million will travel by car—while another 397,000 will fly and 227,000 will use train, bus or cruise. KARK
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Special elections were held on Monday, May 12 in multiple Arkansas communities including North Little Rock, Bryant, and Fort Smith where voters cast ballots at sites such as churches, libraries, and community centers. Early voting occurred in Pulaski County and central Arkansas — locations ranged from regional buildings to community centers for voter convenience. ABC 7

- ➤ UAMS has introduced AR ConnectNow—an online tool to help parents and caregivers support youth mental health with resources such as anti-stigma materials, validated screening tools, and a 24-hour virtual clinic. The platform was developed using feedback from Arkansas parents and school staff and is funded by the Blue and You Foundation through a grant from Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield during Mental Health Awareness Month.
