- ➤ The National Association of Letter Carriers, working with the U.S. Postal Service and the Arkansas Foodbank, held a press conference Thursday morning at the downtown Little Rock Post Office to launch the 33rd Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Residents are asked to leave non-perishable food items by their mailboxes Saturday, May 10 — donations in Pulaski County will support local families in need. ABC 7

- ➤ Searchers and rescue crews led by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission combed the Mulberry River north of Mill Creek after a kayaker was reported missing Saturday in Franklin County (with water levels at 2.78 feet near Mulberry and 2.6 feet at Turner Bend Landing on Thursday) as a dive team was scheduled to help. - ➤ A Little Rock man was arrested Monday in connection to an April shooting that left one man dead and another hospitalized—police announced Thursday. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Pulaski County Circuit Judge Melanie Martin, elected in 2024 to fill retiring Judge Barry Sims’ term, announced Wednesday she is seeking re-election in a judicial election on March 3—where the winner will take office Jan. 1, 2027. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ After a tornado hit Little Rock on March 31, 2023, the city received over $20 million from a federal disaster recovery grant to rebuild the damaged fire station, park, and homes—city officials held a meeting to gather public input and will finalize an action plan before funds are accessed between September and October. - ➤ Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed a law on April 17 that exempts NIL deals from state taxes and FOIA requests—this law applies retroactively to deals made on or after Jan. 1 and comes amid controversy over a quarterback who entered the transfer portal soon after joining U of A. - ➤ The Arkansas State Police—tasked with clearing up a common misunderstanding—explained who must yield when turning at a light to help drivers follow proper rules. THV 11

- ➤ Arkansans for Improving Maternal Health published two free guides online - the Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies Guide and the Guide for New, Expecting Moms - to help mothers understand their rights and access care.
