  • On April 12, a large oak tree crashed on a Little Rock home during a storm with high winds, destroying a fence and storage building and leaving lasting damage. Homeowner Jessica Milam said her yard still shows scars—and she must pay privately for some repairs as the city works to clear debris.  KARK

CRIME NEWS

  • Authorities reported that three homicides occurred in Little Rock in April in Pulaski County, marking the fewest deaths since February 2023—while killings in 2025 through April have exceeded those from early 2024 and 2023.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Little Rock Police are investigating a homicide from May 3 at 3010 Cross Street—officers responded at 5:38 p.m. and found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.  ABC 7

ECONOMY NEWS

  • North Little Rock benefited from the 2025 Hope Credit Union Baseball Championship, which boosted the local economy by an estimated $300,000—thanks to partnerships between the HBCU Athletic Conference, North Little Rock Tourism and the Arkansas Travelers at Dickey-Stephens Park—while officials plan to host future tournaments to build on this success.  THV 11

  • Growing up in Little Rock, Carl Vogelpohl learned early how to balance costs and profits in his family’s craft business—lessons that now inspire his volunteer work with Junior Achievement.
