  • Hundreds laced up their shoes last Saturday for the 2025 Central Arkansas Heart Walk starting at War Memorial Stadium — participants chose 1-, 2-, or 4-mile routes through the park and joined a CPR training rally before the walk.  KARK
  • Will Clark and Neil Day are co-chairmen for the Home for Healing 16th Annual Golf Classic presented by Simmons Bank, scheduled for May 9 at Burns Park Golf Course in North Little Rock. The tournament will kick off with a 12 p.m. shotgun start and offer lunch at 11 a.m. sponsored by Armor Bank of Forrest City — prizes include $5,000 for a hole-in-one to help fund free lodging for families in need.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Pulaski County authorities identified Keonta Spencer, 22, of North Little Rock—believed to have drowned on March 30 after witnesses saw him near Rebsamen Park—as his remains were recovered on April 13 along the Arkansas River near 11021 East Damsite Road amid high river waters, and the investigation remains ongoing.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

CRIME NEWS

  • Little Rock police arrested Dornesha Tillman at 5:09 p.m. Friday near West 11th and Booker streets after she allegedly threatened mass violence at a local school — she now faces felony charges for terroristic threatening.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • A skeletal remain found on March 23 along Roland Cutoff Road was identified as 62-year-old Theresa Chwastek, who was reported missing from Pulaski County after she was last seen on Nov. 11, 2024 — and the investigation is ongoing.  KARK

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Revenue offices in Arkansas extended their hours on Saturday, April 26 to help Arkansans get a REAL ID before the May 7 deadline. By noon, about 1,000 IDs had been issued at five locations including Little Rock, Fayetteville, Jonesboro, Texarkana, and Monticello—officials said the number may grow as more people complete the process.  THV 11
  • Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin said his office fared outstanding in the regular session but expressed disappointment when the state Senate did not approve $750 million in spending authority for prison construction costs in Franklin County—his only letdown.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
