  • Little Rock historian Brian Rodgers of the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center honors local African American history as he builds a brighter future through community events (including a growing Juneteenth celebration and the rebuilding of historic 9th Street).  THV 11
  • Today, violinist Nathan Amaral and pianist Haeshin Shin perform a recital featuring works by Bach, Mozart and Debussy at Morgan Hall at the Stella Boyle Smith Music Center, while LR Winds led by Israel Getzov present America-250 at Second Presbyterian Church with tickets $25 and $15 respectively.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • A federal appeals court banned the sale of candy-like hemp products in Arkansas to curtail youth use + strict measures aim to protect children from exposure.  THV 11

HEALTH NEWS

  • In Arkansas, two flu deaths were reported last week as the Health Department said flu activity remained minimal for a fourth week, with 83 seasonal deaths overall & 20 in Pulaski County. The report also noted 16 hospitalizations and low school absenteeism this season.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • During the WholeHogSports Daily Podcast, Matt Jones and Bubba Carpenter reviewed Arkansas baseball's midweek win over Missouri State and previewed an upcoming trip to Missouri this weekend at Hawgs Illustrated Sports Club.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas football players Mike Washington and Taylen Green boosted their NFL Draft prospects at the combine, with Washington clocking a 4.33 40-yard dash and Green posting a 4.36 run as the draft begins today in Pittsburgh (promising strong future picks).  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas guard Darius Acuff declared for the NBA Draft on ESPN's NBA Today on Wednesday. He won top awards this season and is expected to be drafted in the lottery on June 25 with the withdrawal deadline set for May 28.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • The Arkansas men's golf team shot 3-under 277 at the SEC Championships at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia and sits 12 shots behind the leader after the first round—stroke play continues Thursday and Friday before match play begins for the top teams.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
