Owner Katrina Eibes said she will move forward by launching a food trailer to continue the family legacy while the fire department investigates the cause and a GoFundMe supports displaced employees. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed more than 100 bills into law on Thursday, with many focused on education and professional development — including changes to criminal stalking laws — and naming the Labrador Retriever as the state’s official canine. ABC 7
- ➤ On April 18th, Governor Sanders signed a series of acts that provide more support for public employees who lose a child or family member—these laws also set appropriations for several state departments for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. ABC 7
- ➤ Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed a law last month that allows the use of nitrogen gas for executions, but she said she will not resume executions soon. She said the state will take careful steps as it works through issues with obtaining drugs for lethal injections — and 24 inmates remain on death row. THV 11
- ➤ Governor Sanders announced today that she is appealing FEMA’s decision to deny a Major Disaster Declaration for severe storms and tornadoes that hit parts of Arkansas on March 14 and 15—local communities saw significant damage, three deaths, and many injuries. ABC 7
