- ➤ The new West Little Rock Farmers Market opens today at the Film Alley parking lot in Breckenridge Village. It will run every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to noon through Oct. 31 and will offer fresh produce, baked goods, coffee + meats, crafts, and live entertainment. THV 11
- ➤ The Van nonprofit in North Little Rock has a new director as outgoing Aaron Reddin steps down for health reasons and licensed social worker Parker Reid takes over while construction of a new winter shelter continues at 18815 MacArthur Drive, which will be ready by next winter. THV 11
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Hendrix College in Conway will launch its VIA Hendrix program that requires every student to complete a paid work or research placement to build career skills. - ➤ Georgia Tech transfer guard and forward D’Asia Thomas-Harris committed to Arkansas women’s basketball on Thursday via social media. The 6 ft 2 in player from Katy, Texas averaged 5.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in 29 games for Georgia Tech and is the fourth transfer joining the Razorbacks this offseason + she brings versatile experience to the team.
