- ➤ A Little Rock man was sentenced to 25 years in prison—he fatally stabbed his Taco Bell co-worker in an incident captured on video. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Little Rock police are asking the public for help finding missing woman Carlisa Nicholson, 36, who was last seen in Little Rock and is described as a Black female, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds; anyone with information is urged to call (501) 404-3009, (501) 404-3016, or (501) 371-4829. - ➤ Today AGFC announced that rice producers can apply to join its Waterfowl Rice Incentive Conservation Enhancement Program (WRICE), which requires landowners to flood their fields and allow weekend draw hunts during duck season. The program will offer up to $150 per acre and accept applications until May 15. ABC 7

- ➤ The Arkansas House approved Wednesday a resolution to refer to voters a proposed constitutional amendment that would let them create regional economic development districts—this move sets the stage for upcoming votes on the measure. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ The Arkansas House voted 86-5 on Tuesday to send Senate Bill 568 to the governor to provide tax incentives for the lithium industry. The bill from Sen. Steve Crowell creates a sales-and-use tax exemption for qualified firms that invest at least $100 million + changes the definition of electronic waste for a recycling income tax credit and is expected to be revenue neutral. - ➤ Arkansas legislators passed two laws today to protect children on social media. One law requires users 16 and younger to verify their age and use default safety settings with notifications off from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., while the other allows parents to sue platforms for harm with penalties up to $10,000 per offense (SB611 will go into effect one year after governor approval). - ➤ On Wednesday, protestors met on Capitol Avenue to fight possible cuts to Medicaid that could lower funding by at least $880 billion by 2034. More than 800,000 Arkansans use Medicaid, and community leaders worry that cuts may hurt rural hospitals—lawmakers need to think about the impact. ABC 7
