- ➤ Arkansas is asking the U.S. Department of Education to waive federal requirements that slow down using Title funds, and the state seeks more flexibility in managing its roughly $200 million in annual grants. - ➤ The U.S. Forest Service is evaluating quartz mining on 337 acres of Ouachita National Forest in Saline and Garland counties with public comments open until early May.
