- ➤ Lake Winona, built from 1936 to 1938, provides 35% of local drinking water and supports fishing and boating in restricted areas. It has a past that includes Walnut Bottom and is managed by Central Arkansas Water for nearly 400,000 residents. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Lillian Baker — an 11th grader at Sheridan High School named the 2026 Arkansas Poetry Out Loud champion — will compete in the national semifinals in Washington, D.C. on April 28. - ➤ 92-year-old bluesman Bobby Rush, whose new album earned a Grammy nomination and whose film work drew attention last year, will headline the Arkansas Folklife Festival at Riverfront Park in North Little Rock on June 26. - ➤ The Division of Services for the Blind experienced furloughs starting Nov. 17, 2025, prompting local calls to restore consistent funding and services after severe disruptions affected blind Arkansans and vendors. - ➤ Little Rock will open federal aid applications Monday for homeowners affected by the March 31, 2023 tornado, offering up to $350,000 per owner-occupied home as part of a $21 million HUD block grant for rebuilding, affordable housing & public infrastructure repairs. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
