  • A 1908 postcard from Argenta in North Little Rock shows Hall Drug Co. printing postcards at Fourth and Main (a wheel displaying postcards for sale) and listing toilet articles, cigars and pipes on the back.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Several counties in Arkansas have imposed burn bans as dry weather and warm temperatures increase wildfire risk. Residents are advised to avoid any non-essential burning until conditions improve.  THV 11

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Little Rock city leaders are fighting a housing crisis by offering nearly 600 affordable housing units and $400,000 in down payment assistance as more than 700 evictions occurred in Pulaski County since January. The housing trust fund aims to expand affordable options to 2,000 units to support low-and-moderate income residents.  ABC 7
  • A nationwide coalition of 62 state grower groups and eight national agriculture organizations asked the U.S. Department of Commerce to lift import taxes on phosphate fertilizers, aiming to ease costs for farmers including those in Little Rock (a move that local growers are watching closely).  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • On Tuesday, Mar. 24, the Arkansas men's golf team improved its ranking at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational in Houston when Gerardo Gomez shot a 7-under 64 final round. His strong play helped the Razorbacks finish fourth and tie for a school record 54-hole total.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas women’s basketball freshman guard Harmonie Ware plans to enter the transfer portal, according to her agent, and averaged 7.5 points (with a 24-point record against Jackson State) last season. Her move comes ahead of the portal period from Apr. 6 to 20.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • UALR scored five runs in the eighth inning to secure a 7-1 win over UAPB yesterday at Gary Hogan Field. The team extended its four-game winning streak after overcoming a tight one-run deficit with a bases-clearing triple.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
