  • Andrew Irvin is stepping down as co-concertmaster after over 20 years, with Saturday and Sunday's Masterworks concerts marking his final performance + Kiril Laskarov will take over as sole concertmaster and continue as principal first violinist.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • The Arkansas Arts Council has named Greenbrier fiddler and teacher Tim Trawick the 2026 Arkansas Living Treasure for his over 40 years preserving the Ozark fiddle style (a third-generation artist) and teaching future musicians.   • Fountain Lake’s volunteer fire department now has four firemen after an emergency board meeting led to multiple resignations and one firing. Harry Baker — a longtime firefighter who was demoted after being terminated — said the turmoil may jeopardize future fire protection.  THV 11

  • Former Arkansas sprinter Jordan Anthony (Team USA) won the 60 meter title Friday in Torun, Poland with a time of 6.41 seconds, tying the fourth-fastest mark in history. He ran three races that day and said the win confirmed his choice of the sport.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
