- ➤ Marquis Hunt, a 42-year-old from Little Rock, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison today after a three-day trial where he was convicted on four federal narcotics charges involving fentanyl, meth, cocaine and marijuana—he will also serve five years of supervised release and pay $400 in special assessments. - ➤ On March 20th, the Arkansas House passed a bill that will give localities matching grants of up to $50 million a year to fix old water and sewer systems—part of a plan to update state infrastructure. - ➤ After severe storms hit Arkansas on March 14, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed an order on March 20 that extended the 2024 income tax filing and payment deadlines for residents and businesses in affected counties to July 31. - ➤ An amended bill to extend postpartum Medicaid coverage from 60 days to one full year after birth cleared the House Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee on Thursday in a voice vote with no dissent.
