- ➤ Several cultural events will happen this week. The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and four mezzo-sopranos will perform in the River Rhapsodies series at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Stella Boyle Smith Music Center—Fayetteville’s Walton Arts Center will show the musical Funny Girl on March 23, and the MacArthur Museum will screen the film Codebreaker Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.—while a book talk with Jeffrey Toobin on presidential pardons fills a Wednesday slot at the Ron Robinson Theater. - ➤ On March 14, tornadoes and severe storms hit Arkansas, leaving 3 dead and 29 injured — Governor Sanders declared a state of emergency and released $250,000 in disaster funds to help affected communities. Local lawmakers and officials offered prayers and promised further assistance as recovery efforts continue. ABC 7
- ➤ Following severe storms that hit last night, Attorney General Tim Griffin warned affected residents of scammers and price gouging and reminded homeowners and businesses that Act 376 limits post-disaster cost increases to 10% above pre-disaster prices—violators can face fines up to $10,000 and Class A misdemeanor charges. The price gouging ban will remain in effect for at least 30 days while restrictions on home repair charges will last 180 days. ABC 7
