- ➤ Pastor Mark Hallock spoke on Monday, March 9 at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church where he explained how active evangelism could help revive struggling churches. He draws on his work with a Colorado congregation and a recovery organization to support dying parishes. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Little Rock School District introduced Paloma, an AI mobile app that sends daily texts with curriculum-based reading and math exercises to help parents support third graders. The district said state report cards improved (schools gained letter grades), though 65% of third graders still do not read at grade level. THV 11
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ USACE and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will lower Blue Mountain Lake on May 1 to boost fish and waterfowl habitat; the lake will drop 10 feet until reaching a target by July 25 and hold until November 1. ABC 7

- ➤ Three Razorbacks players made their first infield starts in Fayetteville on Friday, March 13 as coach Dave Van Horn adjusted the lineup to boost depth at bat (a strategic move during the season). Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Arkansas will play Ole Miss in the SEC Tournament semifinal today at 2:30 p.m. at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Arkansas won against Oklahoma on Friday with 37 points from Darius Acuff + Ole Miss has not trailed in tournament play so far. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Pulaski Academy earned its first state championship in girls basketball last Friday at Bank OZK Arena by beating Pea Ridge 56 to 43 and finishing the season with 33 wins, 1 loss after a title game loss last season. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Little Rock Hall wrapped up its season with a 59-54 win in the Class 4A state championship game on Friday at Bank OZK Arena in Hot Springs (their first title since 2013). Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Arkansas and Oklahoma played a SEC quarterfinal game Friday at 8:30 p.m. at Bridgestone Arena, with the winner set to advance for a semifinal match today at 2:30 p.m. The contest offered a chance to improve NCAA Tournament seeding. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
