  • A Women's Foundation of Arkansas study finds that high child-care costs, inflexible work hours and short parental leave discourage working moms. Anna Beth Gorman presented the findings Thursday morning at Fayetteville Public Library, and Little Rock offers 12-week paid leave for municipal employees - a step towards easing these challenges.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Tulsa-based Hideaway Pizza will open its new west Little Rock outlet — located at 16825 Chenal Parkway — on March 23. The restaurant is hosting a pizza party soft opening with free meals for pickup orders placed online through today.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

CULTURE NEWS

  • West Fork artist Laura Terry was named the 2026 Artist Award recipient by the Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The $4,000 award will support her summer project (Atlas Arkansas) that blends historic photos, maps, and her paper quilt technique in a new art form.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • City leaders announced that the 49th National Bikers Roundup will take place at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds this summer, and the event is expected to draw nearly 50,000 bikers to local hotels, restaurants, and shops.  ABC 7

  • Dr. Jermall Wright praised rising school performance and honored individual school achievements yesterday at the Central Arkansas Library System main branch, recognizing Jefferson Elementary, Forest Park Elementary, and Don Roberts Elementary (with performances by the Voices Without Borders Honor Choir and Parkview Jazz Ensemble).  ABC 7

SPORTS NEWS

  • No. 8 Arkansas gymnasts, who edged LSU by 0.275 last season, will take on the No. 2 Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Baton Rouge at the Maravich Assembly Center as they aim for a repeat win.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas men’s basketball begins postseason play today in the SEC Tournament quarterfinal at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville at 8:30 p.m. + the Razorbacks, projected as a No. 5 seed in March Madness, will face Texas A&M or Oklahoma after earning a double bye.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas baseball coach Dave Van Horn previewed the Razorbacks series against Mississippi State during a press conference Thursday, Mar. 12.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
