COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Little Rock will host the 2026 National Bikers Roundup from July 28 to Aug. 2 at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds where nearly 50,000 bikers are expected. The event is the largest camping rally in the country + the city previously hosted it in 2016.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • An Arkansas teen with a rare genetic condition received custom shoes today from a nonprofit in California — assisted by a shoe designer — that were tailored to his needs.  THV 11

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Trucking companies in Arkansas face a 31% rise in diesel fuel prices (driven by the U.S. war with Iran) over the past month, which is pushing up delivery costs in the region.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

CULTURE NEWS

  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade hosted by the Irish Cultural Society starts 1 p.m. Saturday at Sixth and Main in North Little Rock, winding through the Arts District to end at Third and Cumberland. Camden’s Daffodil Festival offers family fun with music and food trucks from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra will present its season’s third First Orion Pops concert, Symphonic Sci-fi, featuring music from science fiction films. ECONOMY NEWS

  • Summit Utilities, the state's largest gas utility, said that a January winter storm drove a spike in residential natural gas use and raised bills due to increased costs.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • UAMS and the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville will collaborate on a research program to attract extramural funding and drive high-reward research — a strategic move that opens new research opportunities in higher education.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Sanders and Erika Kirk held an event at the Governor’s Mansion on Wednesday, where Sanders signed a proclamation urging every high school to start a Club America or Turning Point USA chapter — roughly 200 people attended.  THV 11
  • Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed a proclamation with Erika Kirk today urging high schools to form Club America or TPUSA chapters to boost student involvement. The governor’s move aims to strengthen civic participation in our schools.  THV 11
  • Gov. Sanders signed a proclamation Wednesday at the Governor’s Mansion urging every high school and college to open a Turning Point USA chapter. Erika Kirk highlighted the late founder’s legacy while supporters gathered in the Janet Huckabee Ball Room + championed youth free speech.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

HEALTH NEWS

  • The state Health Department reported 66 flu deaths in the 2025-26 season so far with five since last week as flu activity increased to a high level; the total is nearly 47% lower than last season and 87 residents are in hospital.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
