- ➤ The Conductor at UCA is now accepting applications for its 10th 14-week accelerator program designed to boost tech businesses in the region, run in partnership with the Economic Development Commission; applications close on June 5. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ The Arkansas Folklife Festival will take place June 26-28 at Riverfront Park in North Little Rock. The free event celebrates local traditions with artists, musicians, storytellers, and cooks sharing the state’s rich cultural heritage. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ In 1909, Iron Mountain Railroad’s passenger train No. 106 paused in Portland, Ashley County before leaving New Orleans at 7:30 p.m. and making breakfast in Monroe + lunch at the Van Noy Eating House in McGehee on its way to Little Rock the next evening. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ After Saturday’s EF2 tornado in Nevada County injured one person and knocked down trees, severe storms and large hail are expected today from late morning until early afternoon. Storms will ease briefly before growing more widespread with heavier rain into Wednesday. ABC 7
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, Arkansas earned a 12-0 run-rule win at Missouri State with Ella McDowell hitting a grand slam (her second consecutive in two games) that drove the Razorbacks to victory. The team will head to Alabama this weekend for a three-game SEC series. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Darius Acuff was named SEC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year on Monday after averaging 22.2 points and 6.4 assists per game for the Razorbacks, making him the first to win honors since Moses Moody. He is projected to be a one-and-done pick in the NBA Draft. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
