  • In late February, Little Rock veteran Logan Woodson received a refurbished 2017 Toyota Camry from the Recycled Rides Program at Joe Hudson’s Collision Center on South University Avenue—Farmers Insurance donated the car and Scars and Stripes, Inc nominated him to boost his employment and housing stability.  THV 11
  • Two Arkansas residents (a rancher and a pro basketball player) remain stranded in different Middle Eastern countries as rising US-Iran tensions complicate their travel. Officials are working to help them return safely soon.  THV 11

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum in North Little Rock displays two historic vessels that mark pivotal World War II moments: the USS Hoga aided emergency efforts at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7 and the USS Razorback served at Tokyo Bay in 1945—providing a rare link to the nation’s naval past.  ABC 7

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Tenant farmers in Arkansas face rising cropland rent prices & soaring production costs that add to commodity price pressures, making farming more challenging.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Clayton opened its new Conway home building facility on Thursday, March 5, creating over 250 jobs + signaling a $42 million investment in future growth. The facility aims to address the housing shortage while boosting local economic opportunities.  ABC 7

HEALTH NEWS

  • Rural Arkansas mothers face long drives and limited care as local hospitals close labor units, forcing women to travel up to two hours for maternal services. Health leaders are working to train more doulas & combine resources like ambulances and hospitals to better support these communities.  THV 11

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Arkansas Razorbacks beat Texas 105 to 85 on Thursday at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville with a strong early run setting the tone. Coach John Calipari praised standout Darius Acuff & the team’s performance as they prepare for a regular season finale at Missouri.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • The Razorbacks softball team will play Georgia at 6 p.m. today at Bogle Park in Fayetteville as part of an SEC-opening series, with the game streamed live on SEC Network+; Arkansas recently beat Georgia in the May SEC Tournament.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
